  12. mstem Says:

  13. Anders Says:

    CustoManager (Pro)
Possibly ClientWorks , though it appears that may already be taken… not sure.

  14. Tag Says:

Name it Scroll-A-Dex, provided that’s not a copyright violation on Roll-A-Dex.

  15. Alexander Says:

lol… i used to. Now I drive the new mustang. But yea you may notice that all the upscale luxury cars have stayed away from giving “names” to their cars. It is all in initials. TSX, TL, R8 etc. so CRX is what your software does. Customer Relationship.

  16. Ben Says:

How about simply “Umbrella”? This way you retain your name recognition somewhat (however large or small) that already exists in the market, and because it makes a lot of sense within the context of the product: “All your CRM needs under one Umbrella”. Even if you need a new start with a fresh name, you still accomplish this without sacrificing the integrity and purpose of the original product.

  17. Ed Westin Says:

I like what you already have going with the umbrella theme. Along those same lines, what about Brolly? (colloquial for umbrella) or some derivatives:

    Brollio, Brawly, Brahlie, etc.

Or you could go Spanish, I’ve always loved their word for umbrella:

Paraguas (literal translation: parar=to stop, agua=water - water stopper!)

  18. Alexander Says:

ClientsConnect or back to initials CC =D

  19. Ed Westin Says:

Also, Parasol might not be bad. A bit generic, though.

    Parasolve?

  20. Alexander Says:

hmm.. since i saw your ad on Facebook.. you can also call it ClientsBook =)

  21. Stephanie Cuadra Says:

    how about: Humanageware

    — it’s ultimately about “managing” data about “humans”, right?

  22. Alexander Says:

    or how’s Clientspace lol

  23. Tiffani Says:

    Worksy! like works easy..

  24. DoubleA Says:

    CRoMbrella or CROMbrella, pronounced Chrome-brella

Half umbrella (represents shelter and safety) and half chrome (represents style and ease)

  25. Mike Sax Says:

I happen to own CRMstudio.com if you’re interested.

  26. Nic Says:

Either go with Ben’s suggestion to make it a simple name (Umbrella), or just change the way you’re saying it. If you’re saying it “cee-are-em-brella,” it’s wonky and wrong. I think CRMbrella could work just find if you started saying it “Crumbrella,” although the name “Crumbrella” isn’t quite as fine.

  27. Gregg Says:

    MoneyPlant

  28. jasper Says:

    I agree with Umbrella.
    But if you insist.

    CRMaster

    ha

“Daytimr” is probably a copyright infringement, as well as dated
i bet “Trapr” is too, as well as silly

“Jot” could work. sounds simple and easy. but maybe too informal for you

    lol RoboClerk

    ok

Latin “clericus” –’can denote someone who works in an office and whose duties include record-keeping or correspondence.’ Thanks wiki. but it carries some religious connotations. but actually i think you could get away with it anyway.

  35. The CRMbrella Team Says:

CircleDog is an internal one in the running, as is Gatherbase…

  36. Wil Says:

Originally had the same idea as Nic, but also thought it might not convey what you really wanted.

Maybe “expositus” (Latin for accessible). Not sure if that could be taken by something else though as googling it has many hits.

Or another Latin word “articulus” (translation of “a moment”) which could be about the speed of accessing all your CRM information.

  37. The CRMbrella Team Says:

Wow. There are a lot of great ideas here…I have to say I like Worksy for some product, just not this one! Pretty cute.

    Mike–thanks. That might work…

Anyone have anything less literal? Abstract?

  38. James Says:

I think Umbrella is definitely the best option so far, for the good reasons that Ben listed. Tiffani’s suggestion: Worksy is silly, but strangely catchy since it’s so fun to say.

For something more serious and still literal, but a bit more streamlined, maybe just “Brella” would be better than Umbrella. Here you keep the concept of “covering all your CRM needs with one software program” yet without looking dull or uncreative. (Plus 2 syllables are better than 3 when you are trying to have a name that can be remembered).

    Possible tag-lines:
    “Brella: CRM-azing.”
“Brella : We’ve got you covered.”

  39. James David Says:

    How about:

    Amass!

    Centrales [wikipedia]

    Upshot

Of course, you can add CRM to the end of any of these suggestions for accuracy.

  40. Marco Says:

How about “Shelterware” ? Shelter for Umbrella and Ware for soft”ware” Simple and easy to remember :)

  41. rich Says:

CeRebelluM. Unfortunate that the domain is taken, but they don’t seem to be using it for much, so perhaps they would sell it to you.

  46. The CRMbrella Team Says:

It used to be called SalesWorks. We’d love to name it that, and we own the trademark, but there’s going to be a challenge to it (bugger!), and we don’t have the url. Shame.

A lot of these suggestions are pretty good. Nothing’s jumping out yet, though…now I know why companies spend thousands on this stuff!

  63. D Braden Says:

how leave brella in there and call it like brella-base or because your companies are not for profit or whatever how about visionbase.

  64. D Braden Says:

Yeah, Visionbase, “helping fulfill your vision one transaction at a time” ooh what an epiphany, lol sounds good though

  65. Charlie Crystle Says:

Aaron–I agree! Software shouldn’t be a drag to use. Or to promote! Something fun would be nice. I liked the name ChiliSoft back in the day because it gave us permission to be a bit wacky. When we were just 3 people, we threw a margarita party for 300 people at Comdex East (or south) in Atlanta…June 1997. handed out wacky invites…mostly press and partners. Blast!

I miss the days of fun and sometimes cheesy promotional stuff. FunCheese.

By the way, folks, we’re FOR profit, though we serve 7000 nonprofits. We’ve donated 20% of founding stock to a foundation, though, and are a socially responsible company. D Braden–I like that! Visionbase…

  66. Charlie Crystle Says:

    Ed–great name (paragua)!

  67. Sherrie Connelly Says:

    Greetings,

I am a organization consultant in Sacramento who works with a lot of non-profits to help them to be more effective. Thus, I am interested in the results that non-profits want to produce.

My submitted entry for the “Name the Software” contest is based on the idea of desired results and engaging with the people who help the non-profits produce those results.

Thus, I recommend that the basic software package be called “Generous Spirit” and the PRO software package be called “Generous Spirits.”

The first has to do with the attitudes of giving, philanthropy, and empowerment that non-profits want to create in their supporter-base, and the second has to do with the diverse and wide-spread community of donors that each non-profit wishes to enroll from their potential supporter-base.

I hope you like my offered names.

    Best wishes,

    Sherrie Connelly
    The Strategy Foundation

  68. Sherrie Connelly Says:

PS Of course the primary immediate result that would be produced is the management of donations, and the ongoing results that would be produced would be meeting the needs of the non-profits service audience as a result of those donations.

    Regards,

    Sherrie Connelly

  70. Darin Padula Says:

    Aloha,

I think you need to look to your competitors a bit for inspiration, and then incorporate the hopes and aspirations of your clientelle to create a powerful name and corporate identity.

That is, you may do well with a descriptive name, but I think it’s telling that even Microsoft has chosen a different route. I.E., they have a history of naming their products after exactly what they do (Word, PowerPoint, SQLServer) and they have not done so for their CRM products.

I think that goes towards the heart of the creative, company founding, company expanding and marketability ethos inside each company wanting to utilize CRM software.

That being the case, IMHO, I think you might best be served with a name that conjures up where you product can take people. Insofar as people trusted the ancient greek Oracle of Delphi to solve their problems, many people today seem to use Oracle as well.

Your company offers a modern, scientific based resource for CRM management and utilization. It’s cutting edge and easy to use, while based on the driving force of modern society- reason and ingenuity.

When you trace all that back in time, all the powers and thoughts that shaped our modern world, you will end up with the Ancient Greeks, and with luck at Archimedes. It was that one fateful experiment that led to his cry of Eureka! He had found the secret that tied it all together, and in doing so (by enabling mathematical calculations of a previously unsolvable problem) ushered in a new era of enlightenment.

    Your Product- Archimedes
Your Mission- Enabling each Clients Eureka! Moment.

    Hope you like it.

  71. Kaiser Rubble Says:

I think some people posting here think that CRMBrella is software for non-profits. Mission Research has a product called GiftWorks that is specifically designed for non-profits. CRMBrella is designed around for-profit small businesses like ours.

  72. Charlie Crystle Says:

That’s correct, Kaiser–we’re naming the small business product, not the nonprofit product. Darin–great post. Archimedes is taken, unfortunately.

    Sherrie–thanks. Great notion!
